Privacy Policy

Clipboard — macOS app  |  LPB Consult  |  Last updated: March 29, 2026

Short version: Clipboard stores your clipboard history locally on your Mac and, if you opt in, syncs it to your own private iCloud account. We never see your data and we never share it with anyone.

1. Who we are

Clipboard is developed and maintained by LPB Consult (be.lpbconsult). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at info@lpbconsult.be.

2. What data the app accesses

Clipboard monitors your system clipboard in order to build a history. The data it reads and stores includes:

  • Plain text
  • Rich text (RTF)
  • Images

This data is stored locally on your Mac inside your app's Application Support directory. Nothing is sent anywhere without your explicit action.

3. iCloud sync (optional)

If you are signed in to iCloud on your Mac and sync is enabled, clipboard items are synced to your private CloudKit database (iCloud.be.lpbconsult.Clipboard).

  • Your data is stored in your own iCloud account — only you can access it.
  • Apple may process this data as part of the iCloud infrastructure, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • LPB Consult has no access to your iCloud data at any time.

4. Data we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect analytics or usage statistics.
  • We do not use advertising SDKs.
  • We do not transmit your clipboard content to our servers or any third-party servers.
  • We do not create user accounts or collect personally identifiable information.

5. Data retention & deletion

Clipboard history is retained locally until you delete individual items or clear all history within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. If you have iCloud sync enabled, you can delete all synced records by clearing your history in the app, which propagates deletions to iCloud.

6. Permissions used

The app uses the following macOS capabilities:

  • Clipboard access — required to read and monitor clipboard content.
  • iCloud (CloudKit) — used only for cross-device sync via your private iCloud account.

7. Children's privacy

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or the App Store release notes.
